In a unexpected crossover event that defies traditional expectations, Ubisoft has revealed an virtual partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual holiday event runs from November 25 through December 22, including free bonus story content for Shadows players.

Strange Adventure Uncovered

According to the formal release, "A strange meeting draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where rumors of prohibited ceremonies and terrifying changes resonate through the darkness." The storyline presents a "oddly dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the duo with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her ally from a secret sect.

The questline concentrates on "bizarre experiments and a terrifying foe" and is open to all players who have acquired the Yasuke character.

Iconic Places and Transformations

The teaser highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The preview finishes with a dramatic sequence showing a character, likely the captive, changing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Special Rewards and Bonus Features

Players who finish the adventure will obtain an special katana alongside several items hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:
