I'll stamp all over 'credible fighter' Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
British boxer Joshua said he will "stamp all over" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the pair met personally to build hype for next month's boxing match.
Former twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.
Fighter's Mindset
"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.
"I'll stamp all over him. That's how fighters think.
"I'm going to seriously aim to hurt him. That's my intention."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of those words, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul rather targeted former Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "a joke" after Ngannou declined a match opportunity.
Taking Aim at Fury
Anthony Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK rival Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.
"I give him credit for that."
Legitimate Opponent
Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his opponent's boxing ability.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Paul's History
Jake Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has mainly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.
He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of boxing's biggest commercial attractions, consistently making huge earnings.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28 year old anticipated a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the highly-expected Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly under discussion for 2026.
"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.
Size Disparity
As both boxers engaged in the traditional face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it highlighted just how improbable this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is actually happening.
