The carrier to provide complimentary high-speed onboard wifi through satellite deal

Travelers flying with the airline will soon use quick wifi onboard at no cost following a recent agreement with the billionaire's satellite provider.

No-cost and Quick Wifi Available to Everyone

The carrier revealed that this complimentary, “fast and dependable” connectivity service from Starlink will be available for customers flying coach, premium economy, or premium cabins from soon.

Widespread Rollout Over Multiple Carriers

The parent company of the airline, IAG, announced it had reached an agreement with SpaceX to provide connectivity access for more than 500 jets across their airlines, including the Irish airline, Iberia, plus the low-cost airline.

Uninterrupted Connectivity starting at Boarding through Landing

The airline noted that this introduction of this service was included in a multi-billion pound “upgrade” plan and will provide smooth connectivity coverage for passengers from the gate through arrival, also when they are flying above large bodies of water or remote regions.

Existing Connectivity Offerings

Basic internet access is currently provided to British Airways passengers on most of its jets via their .air system.

Members in BA’s reward scheme may dispatch communications and text-only emails during flights without paying, whereas travelers wishing to watch music, movies, or content throughout their travel who are not flying in premium cabins can expect to be charged from four pounds ninety-nine and twenty-one pounds ninety-nine for a internet package.
