Thousands Experiencing Electricity in Queensland and Victoria Following Intense Weather Systems
Nearly twenty-five thousand homes in south-east Queensland were left lacking electricity on Monday morning after powerful weather events impacted the region, bringing powerful gusts topping 109km/h.
Large Frozen Precipitation and Broad Impact
Residents observed large ice chunks reaching sizes of 7cm in some areas. Meteorological experts confirmed that different parts across Queensland had been affected by large hailstones.

Emergency crews were attempting to repair power throughout the impacted areas, with approximately seventy teams deployed to address the widespread outages.
Southern State's Climate Difficulties
At the same time, around 1,000 households in Victoria also experienced electricity disruptions after the capital city saw its heaviest rainfall in over 500 days.
Emergency response teams responded to 598 requests for assistance across the region, mainly for structural issues but also for downed trees and water accumulation.

- Wyndham - over 175 calls for assistance
At the height on Sunday, over 28,000 energy customers in the state were without power.
Climate Outlook
Humid circumstances were expected to linger along much of Queensland's east this next several days as a atmospheric system continued to attract humidity against the coast.
The following day was forecast to be the wettest day, with persistent severe weather risk predicted across different parts of both regions.
